Shakespeare Still Captivates All

On July 9th, 2011, hundreds of spectators took their seats to see one of Shakespeare's famous plays, "The Comedy of Errors." This play is good for all ages as humor and confusion take control. "The Comedy of Errors" is easier to comprehend than other Shakespeare plays because the actors act out what they are saying. Nikki Farris, 13, says that this play would be good for 4th through 8th graders since she liked it.
 
The comedy tells about 2 sets of identical twins that were separated and come together. Citizens get them mixed up so bad things are happening.
 
For the past 54 years Shakespeare plays have been performed in an outdoor theater on the CU Boulder Campus. Even if it rains the show will still go on! Chris Kendall, who has been acting for 47 years, plays the Duke in "Comedy of Errors." He enjoys acting and says acting in any of the roles in any of Shakespeare's plays is wonderful. One of Chris' worst acting experiences was when he was supposed to be confessing his feelings to a woman but stepped on a walnut shell at the most dramatic moment. The audience laughed then, but they weren't supposed to in that play. However, in "The Comedy of Errors," Chris and the other actors do a good job making the audience laugh when they are supposed to.
