Rules

Rules is a book about a girl named Catherine who has a brother, named David, who has autism. She teaches David how to behave by using " rules ". These rules are things like; no toys in the fish tank.David goes to therapy every we Catherine week and there she meets a boy named Jason. Jason can't talk and he is in a wheelchair, so he uses cards with words on them. One day, at therapy, Catherine starts to draw Jason, but he notices, and he gets mad at her, though the next week, he says that he really does like it, and asks Catherine to make him some word cards. Every week she gives Jason new cards, and then eventually he asks her if she wants to come to his birthday party. At the party they get into an argument, because Jason asks Catherine to the dance at the community center, Catherine says no, and Jason takes it the wrong way. A few hours later Catherine goes back to his house and tells him to meet her at the dance. After the dance she realizes that it is better to not care about what other people think about you.I think this book is very entertaining and I love the authors word choice.I recommend this book to people who are 8 and up.
